The theme of 'Connections' promises infinite possibilities. Winners of the 4th Niceaunties AI Video Grant, Leilanni and Andres, presented videos that stood out for their creative depth, unique perspectives, and skillful execution. Leilanni’s work explores our reliance on technology and the internet, guided by an ethereal creature that navigates through various landscapes. Her four videos, told as a continuous story, invite us to reflect on what we have lost in the digital age. Andres, on the other hand, dives into the emotions of nostalgia and our connections with the past through the study of movement and sound design, constructing four distinct narratives that captivate and resonate with viewers. It has been an absolute joy to be part of their creative process.
A 4-part video series that explores the meaning of connection in modern society. The series follows a whale using bioluminescent echolocation, whale songs, vocalizations, and “clicks” as it journeys through different worlds in search of meaningful connections.
At the start and end of each video, sound and images link the series together, creating a continuous thread that underscores the theme of connection. This approach aims to connect the owners of these videos, if only for a brief moment, with others who experience the series.

The space becomes increasingly alien. This portrayal of mental disarray relies on the storytelling power of everyday spaces, revealing a world that grows more unknown and fragmented with each iteration.
