“Oculatrix” depicts a primordial entity composed of countless eyes, encircled by women who move around its presence. Eventually, one woman is absorbed into the entity, and from this assimilation new eye-creatures are endlessly replicated. The work conceives vision as a force of both generation and domination, where the gaze itself mutates into a system that produces its own species. It also reflects critically on the complete domination of vision in contemporary social media, exposing how the act of seeing itself becomes an apparatus of control.
