About the artwork
This artwork is a new piece in my Revolutions series, reflecting on the passing of time through buildings, seen as multi-generational beings. Revolution #4 introduces some new elements to the process, as it started by "sampling" and reimagining a real building in my hometown: a beach resort (lido). For us growing on the seaside, these are the places we spend our summers and they carry memories that feel timeless. And yet, those walls are exposed to erosion and, ultimately, to being swallowed by the sea. As sea levels rise, life on the coast becomes precarious, fleeting.

Andrea Ciulu was born in Rome, Italy, in the 1980s. With a background as a writer and visual artist, he has been working in the creative industries for the last twenty years in roles of creative direction.
His artistic work is an ongoing exploration of the limits of memory and of our perception of reality: a research conducted by exploiting technology and its intrinsic limits, by mixing the familiar with the uncanny, nostalgia with bewilderment. Andrea’s work has been exhibited in Rome, San Francisco and Mexico City.
