About the artwork
The hall is completely empty, but the floor is covered in a grid of pressure sensors. Each step triggers a color gradient across the ceiling, and a second later, a schematic infographic lights up, pointing to the “ideal” direction of movement. At first, it feels like freedom — no walls, no judgment. But after a few minutes, it becomes clear that the trajectories were already laid down by earlier, random visitors; the floor nudges your foot so gently it’s impossible to tell where your own impulse ends and the suggestion begins. I kept those imprints so the next viewer would step into someone else’s trace and leave their own behind, like a message to whoever comes next. The only question left is who’s drawing the path — the person, or the soft surface that’s learned how to command without saying a word.
