About the artwork
Here, I collected ready-made gestures as if shopping for clipart in a supermarket of bodies. The characters on screen respond to any prompt: “sit — entice,” “stand — offer,” “look — sell.” As the footage rewinds and loops, poses flow into each other, exposing the emptiness between commands. What mattered to me was how these unclaimed gaps become filled with the viewer’s own imagined noise. In the final seconds, the edit breaks down on its own, and the body suddenly loses its task — freezing in awkward plasticity or hovering half a pixel above a studio backdrop. That’s the moment when the scripted path fails, and a tiny error surfaces inside the commercial body — the only genuine gesture, the one that can’t be bought or sold, but is quickly wiped away by the next costume change.
