Fishing Day forms a surreal and symbolic universe, pieced together from absurd fragments of my own life experiences. As a child, visits to zoos and aquariums were more panic-inducing than enjoyable, a sentiment I loosely explore in this video. It's a deadpan surreal portrayal of that unique, almost whimsical fear, capturing how these experiences lingered and morphed in my imagination. I created a soundscape that hints at a world beyond the immediate visual narrative. The use of off-screen sounds helps me to portray the familiar as unfamiliar. This piece also includes some of my recurring elements, such as oversized mascot costumes, which symbolizes the awkard feeling of my shy personality. And the fishes; they loosely symbolize my fear of ecological disasters.
