With this video, the whole On These Streets series explicitly anchors itself to the city of New York. The “provenance statement” is a trope of hip hop music and helps us map the real-world inspiration to this imaginary world.
OTS Mixtape is a video companion to the series "On These Streets", and it's meant as an immersive device to relive those times. It uses a format that is native to the period (music videos) to bring us deep into our memories, while also creating something entirely new.

Andrea Ciulu was born in Rome, Italy, in the 1980s. With a background as a writer and visual artist, he has been working in the creative industries for the last twenty years in roles of creative direction.
His artistic work is an ongoing exploration of the limits of memory and of our perception of reality: a research conducted by exploiting technology and its intrinsic limits, by mixing the familiar with the uncanny, nostalgia with bewilderment. Andrea’s work has been exhibited in Rome, San Francisco and Mexico City.
