What grows on what. The question the image keeps making and unmaking. Faces appear the way certainties do — insistently, then less so, then gone, then back with a different claim. The insect never asked. The heads never asked. By the three that remain at the close the asking has been structurally expelled, and what looks back is not a subject asserting itself but a form that has survived its own proliferation and does not yet know what to do with that.
