Overgrowth

Past a threshold excess becomes grammar. The hands were always this many; the image simply took this long to admit it. The head did not open — it had always been open, faces inside faces, the interior that was never interior because the distinction had been quietly abandoned somewhere before the piece began. The zoom at the end is not arrival. It is the image locating the one surface that was never not there, singular, looking out, holding everything it was asked to hold without letting the holding show.
