This particular larval specimen belonging to the order Odonata exhibits the peculiarity of possessing a membrane that, upon laboratory analysis, has been found to be composed of the same organic elements as nacre – the substance secreted by shells and mollusks.

Emilia Trevisani is a visual artist based in Italy. For several years she worked as a journalist and videomaker, and began experimenting with new media art in 2020. A self-taught path through programming language, 3D scan, AI and generative art tools has led her to find a new voice to describe the world within and around her. Her investigation with AI mostly focuses on mutation status, inner visions, lucid dreams and little epiphanies.
