About the artwork
This rare specimen of marine Rafflesia reproduces solely in the deep abysses. To ensure its survival, over time, it has developed a parasitic relationship with a mollusk from the Octopodidae family. In contrast to terrestrial specimens within the same family, the blossoming of this tentacled species is perennial.

Emilia Trevisani is a visual artist based in Italy. For several years she worked as a journalist and videomaker, and began experimenting with new media art in 2020. A self-taught path through programming language, 3D scan, AI and generative art tools has led her to find a new voice to describe the world within and around her. Her investigation with AI mostly focuses on mutation status, inner visions, lucid dreams and little epiphanies.
