About the artwork
The title of this video is inspired by the idea that online friendships, though unseen, often forge bonds that can feel even more authentic than those formed in the "real world." Drawing from the nostalgia of having an imaginary friend as a child and reflecting on the pair's unique relationship—where they developed a professional and artistic partnership without ever meeting in person—this concept explores the powerful connections made possible through the internet, technology, and AI.
In this project, the artists pushed the boundaries by intentionally blurring the lines between "real life" and virtual realities, highlighting how these worlds can merge, making it increasingly challenging to distinguish between what is tangible and what is created and manipulated.
For the first time, the artist duo experimented with altering real-life video using AI, seamlessly blending the physical and digital worlds to further challenge perceptions.
