About the artwork
Morphogenesis is the process through which living beings acquire their distinct shapes and structures, akin to nature's way of following a genetic blueprint. This work delves into the idea that we are all fundamentally composed of the same material and, in essence, could have developed into any human being. This notion suggests a profound interconnectedness among us, perhaps implying that we are, in reality, facets of a singular entity. In the video, the constant transformation of individuals into one another represents the myriad lives we might have led, or other people we could have become, if chance had it.

X New Worlds is a London-based artist and designer who examines the nature of consciousness and the ephemeral. Drawing inspiration from her experiences with sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming, she weaves surreal and absurd worlds that explore the precipice between conscious and unconscious realities.
