Prometheus

In the myth of Prometheus, he stole fire from the gods and delivered it to humanity, which they received in the form of intelligence and civilization. In this piece, we follow that progression from out of the darkness of the cave to the modern urban landscape, with apes occasionally popping back up totally at odds with their environment. This video functions as a companion piece to the first piece in the series, Ape City, and brings us full circle. Despite being gifted the flame of intelligence and civilization, and thus separating our species from our primate forebears, it may seem at times as if we’re destined to return to the darkness from which we came.
