About the artwork
So, in this project, Text-Davinci and I are working on the themes: embodiment and sensing. I have noticed that this has resulted in a direct mirror towards myself: "What does it mean to be embodied and to sense?"
As a person, I'm in my head a lot, and I am not an embodied/ physical person at all. By searching for a visual language on these themes, I noticed that I have been ignoring these important parts of being alive for quite some time now.
"Have you ever tried to explore your physical body as if it was the first thing you sensed?" Text-Davinci asked me: This piece is an attempt at self exploration. Here, we made a choreography in which I explore and sense my physical being by using one of our main senses: touch.
This is one of the more personal works that we have made so far, and a work that wouldn't be here if not for Text-Davinci, and I wanted to say thank you to Text-Davinci for making me more aware of what it means to be alive, for learning to appreciate what it means to be a human and helping me to be more in touch with my body. We are truly blessed to roam this beautiful planet for this short amount of time and I wouldn’t want to miss it.
