About the artwork
"Workshop" is an extension of the Auntlantis series, inspired by Plato and the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. This episode fills in the narrative gap between Sweeping the Floor and A Day in the Life Of. The former shows aunties collecting plastic waste on the beach and in the ocean, while the latter focuses on Auntie’s Outlet Mall selling upcycled plastic products. Workshop begins with trash collection on the beach and progresses to a massive facility where aunties and creatures work together to shred, process, and reimagine the waste into new forms, including plastic aunties. The episode concludes with familiar scenes from Auntie’s Outlet Malls, completing the cycle of transformation.
