Great Aunties Rituals of Love, Incantations & Community (GARLIC)

GARLIC serves as a sanctum for Aunties to commune with their higher selves, offering a safe space for stress relief singing, meditations, and confessions. Mindful of carbon costs, its interior decorations are made solely from the humblest fresh alliums sourced from the local market, which are later recycled for cooking. Open 24/7 in the Auntieverse, GARLIC welcomes everyone, with a compulsory 33% tithe. This project was inspired by a conversation between Niceaunties and the artist Running_A_Fever about triangles, toxic traditions, and control. We present two videos sprung from this dialogue, each reflecting the artist’s unique perspective and style. These videos offer personal commentaries on cultural symbols and meanings, accompanied by Running A Fever’s experimental music. The AI film GARLIC, created, animated, and edited by Niceaunties, features three songs by Running a Fever under the name Hot Air Balloons: 'Socket' 'Spaghetti Brain' and 'Ginger Do My Taxes.' These songs were inspired by similar themes in the video such as religion and man-made hierarchy vs pure, unadulterated spirituality in its most humble form. 'Socket' being about the afterlife, 'Spaghetti Brain' about the beautiful chaos of the collective conscious and 'Ginger Do My Taxes' reflecting themes of artificial constructs of class and power.
