About the artwork
Solitaire Alone Together reimagines 90s Windows solitaire as a multiplayer experience. Each game is unique and recorded forever. Visitors can see others play live but can't otherwise interact - placing 90s-era optimism about an internet-connected world next to the more isolated scrolling of the present.
Nolen Royalty (eieio.games) is an internet artist and experimental game designer based in Brooklyn. He creates massively multiplayer websites that have convinced millions of strangers to interact in novel, constrained ways. His work — which includes websites like One Million Checkboxes, the Global Capslock Key, and Every UUID Dot Com — has been presented at GDC and XOXO and covered in the New York Times and the Washington Post. He knows that the internet can still be fun.
