In my series "Overthinking Machines," I dive into how art and technology intersect, focusing on AI's quirky imperfections. Through "low-confidence" object detection and interpolating/morphing images, I reveal how AI's attempts to make sense of visuals often result in intriguing errors. Instead of fixing these, I embrace them, inviting viewers to see the creativity behind AI's misinterpretations. This work makes us think about the impact of AI's mistakes in a world filled with surveillance. It questions the thin line between watching and overstepping, suggesting how these AI errors reflect deeper concerns about privacy and our digital existence. "Overthinking Machines" acts as a snapshot of AI today, reminding us that each error is a step toward future breakthroughs. As AI quickly evolves, this collection encourages us to see AI/computer vision not just as a tool but as a partner in creativity, pushing us to imagine a new blend of art, technology, and surveillance.
