VARIATION LOOP
The video is a looped portrait of a type of man. He continuously transforms, but the changes are so slight they’re almost imperceptible.
Is it the same person - or someone entirely different?
I generated multiple iterations of a character. The transformation is minimal, almost invisible, yet undeniably unsettling. The thing about loops is their infinity: they repeat endlessly, creating an eerie sense of sameness within the change.
What mattered to me was maintaining eye contact - with different men who are, paradoxically, the same man. Like recurring patterns in behavior, there are patterns in the way people look. I’m fascinated by the molding of characters and the shared mentality that connects us all.
