Watercoming

I repeatedly return to water as a central theme, as I do not regard it as a stable substance, but as something that is continually in the process of becoming. In this work, water does not transition into another organism; rather, it appears as a state of ongoing transformation. It remains water, yet behaves as if it were something endowed with a form of intention. A seated human figure is present beneath this phenomenon, not as an active subject, but as a point of reference. She does not intervene or respond; instead, she functions as a residual form of stability against which the instability of water becomes perceptible. In this sense, water ceases to function as a fixed entity. Its identity is not preserved, but instead undergoes continuous decomposition and reconstitution. By contrast, the human figure appears as a remnant of being—an instance of relative stability that has not yet been fully dissolved. What emerges is not a transition between clearly defined states, but the persistent appearance of something that resists stabilization—in other words, a process of becoming that cannot be reduced to being.
