Spatial Loops II

Spatial Loop is a four-part video series structured around fixed points: real landscapes shot on VHS, used as the start and end frame for each segment. Between those anchors, the footage shifts into randomized, AI-generated imagery — visual drift with no fixed destination — before returning to the same VHS frame it began on. The four parts run the same structure with different source footage and different generative outcomes, testing how far the image can wander before the loop pulls it back. The work treats the VHS landscape less as memory and more as a constraint: a boundary condition the system has to return to, regardless of what happens in between. Anthony Sylvester
