I worked on this piece over several weeks while watching the World Cup games. I kept getting pulled into the excitement and chaos of it all, the mania and the drama, and I wanted to put some of that into a video.
I worked with this style and these surreal figures by blending the soccer ball into the human faces. The vibrant saturated colors come straight from what you see across the teams and the fans during the tournament finding ways to blend them all in.
This one also has a new audio experiment for me. The music brings in cheering fans and stadium chanting, which pushes the whole feeling further and ties the sound to what you see. I am starting to see if the audio models can pull in and blend natural sounds instead of just music. Really happy with how it turned out.
