About the artwork

"Can't Wake Up" sits in the DreamZzzone world but feels like where everything so far has been building toward. It's the first piece where movement, chaos and effects all came together the way I had been pushing for and it opened up a whole new branch of how I work. The piece follows a figure stuck in a dream, unable to move, surrounded by nightmare creatures and things that don't make sense, until he finally breaks free but even that doesn't resolve anything. He still can't wake up. The music was different on this one too. Usually I have a track already and the visuals find their way into it but here I went hunting for a specific sound to match the feeling of the movements. That search ended up branching into a whole new direction for how I approach the music side of things.

About the artist

Birddog

Diego Torres, also known as Birddog (born 1988, Zacatecas, Mexico), is a California-based graphic/UI designer and AI artist working exclusively with AI-driven digital media. His practice explores identity, mortality, surrealism, and the fractured nature of reality, using glitched aesthetics to rebuild familiar forms into evocative, dreamlike compositions and loops. Constantly refining his visual taste after more than a decade in professional design, Diego pairs traditional design principles with tools like Midjourney, ComfyUI, and Stable Diffusion to challenge ideas of permanence and reality. His work has been exhibited at IHAM Gallery (Paris), Casa NUA (São Paulo), and Artcrush Gallery (Belgium). Most recently, he earned third place in Claire Silver’s AI Art Contest #8. Drawn to the unpredictability of AI and the fragility of existence, he pursues a balance between control and chaos while evolving his eye.
