Stigmata (Botanical)

The water runs from every surface of the face simultaneously, from forehead and cheek and nose, as if the face had become entirely porous, as if the distinction between interior moisture and exterior air had been revoked. What she holds changes: first a full flower, then its residue, then leaves only, then what leaves leave behind. The flower was always tending toward this. The face was always the last to know.
