These works can be seen as an early form of Bodies Without Limits. The human body is already undergoing bizarre transformations, but at this stage, color had not yet become one of the central elements of the work. The focus was placed more directly on the body itself—how it could stretch, bend, collapse, multiply, twist, and move in ways that feel physically impossible. The transformations are important, but so are the strange movements that accompany them. In many of these works, the body does not simply change shape; it behaves unpredictably, awkwardly, and sometimes almost absurdly. Compared with the later Bodies Without Limits series, these works contain a stronger element of humor. The exaggerated movements, unstable physical reactions, and unexpected bodily behavior often create a sense of slapstick or black comedy. The grotesque and the ridiculous exist very close to each other. In that sense, these works became a kind of prototype for Bodies Without Limits. The later series would expand further into excessive form, volume, structure, and vivid color, while these earlier works were more focused on the strange physicality of transformation itself—and on the humor that emerges when the human body stops behaving like a human body.
