In this work, a boy and a strange, mascot-like figure standing on an old Japanese street become the subjects of transformation.
The creature holding the crying boy has a certain charm, yet from the outset it also carries an unsettling quality that resists human understanding. A magical girl suddenly appears, and with her delicate magic, she vividly rewrites both of their bodies.
The boy’s head swells to an unnatural size, while the mascot proliferates into a colossal mass of flesh covered in countless faces and limbs. Decorated with hearts and swirling patterns, its new form intensifies both cuteness and physical revulsion, transforming the street into a festive hell of flesh.
I have always been obsessed with laughter, having written countless scripts for sketches and manzaicomedy—not as a performer, but as a writer. The performers would take my scripts and elevate them, interpreting them in ways that made the laughter shine brighter.
Yet within me grew a desire to pursue something sharper, stranger—laughter so radical it might no longer even be laughter at all. Perhaps no one else would laugh, but it would be mine alone.
This vision could not be expressed through words, nor could it be performed by someone else. It belonged entirely to the realm of imagination—unrealizable, until now. In my restless search, the times gifted me with a remarkable technology. AI appeared before me as a new kind of performer.
