Get To Work (2024)

I’m captivated by David's practice. It is a perfect representation of his Korean heritage and how those ideas and stories, with the passing of time, have become dreams or distant memories

몽상가 “Mongsangga”
A person who “enjoys” thinking about improbable things
The Mongsangga animations shift through dream scapes that lose their form just as they become recognizable, constantly shifting from one scene into the next. The visuals trace back to ideas of South Korea, a mix between memories and imagination, all tumbling into each other in a seamless flow.
The animations induce a dream like whimsical state, the viewers get taken on an adventure through stories that stem from asian diaspora, with key themes of time passing, memories fading and an attempt at reconstructing a fantasy.
